Playing Along with Melyssa
Hope everyone has had a nice weekend! Mine was really quiet, settled in and watched some movies with hubby, hung out, played with the kids – it was nice. However, I did take some time out to get a card done
I wanted to do one of the challenges from the blog hop and I opted for Melyssa’s because I liked the idea of using a non-Christmas image on my Christmas/holiday card. Anyhow, I chose to use “Standing Fall Tilda” which remains one of my favourites and she is really easy to colour too. I chose some fun Basic Grey patterned paper and some Prima lace ribbon and I think that the end product is a beautiful holiday card.
Anyhow, I must be going, I have some mundane chores to get done, like laundry and dishes – ugh…..

My Stop on the Blog Hop…
If you have been following the hop sequence you should be coming in from Carla’s Blog, if not, you can always head back to the Stamp Shoppe Blog and see who you missed.
I never expected to have a DT or card gallery but after 5 months in business the store is doing good and it’s time to take the next step! Soooooo, this Blog Hop is the perfect way to introduce the new Stamp Shoppe DT, show off the new blog and new gallery. If you are familiar with twitter, you can always get yourself setup to get the Stamp Shoppe “tweets” too!
Anyhow, the holidays are going to be here before you know it and so we decided that this Blog Hop Challenge will be to create some Christmas cards and/or projects that you can still get done in time for the holidays.
The way that the Blog Hop will work is that each DT member will be hosting a challenge on their blog with a corresponding candy up for grabs. That’s 4 individual chances for some yummy candy!! And if that’s not enough, you can also qualify for the Shoppe Grand Prize! If you have completed each of the 4 DT challenges then just create a fifth card by scraplifting one of the cards in the DT Card Gallery (make sure you let us know whose card you lifted) and post your link on the Stamp Shoppe Blog.
For my challenge, I wanted to do something fun but not really a “card” and so I came up with a pocket card which, in my case, holds an insert with a gift card. Perfect for this time of the season I think. I didn’t post a tutorial because, let’s be honest, I suck at tutorials LOL. That being said, if you Google “pocket card tutorial” you’ll find a few you can try. So, create a pocket card and post your link in the comments section of this post for a chance to win!! I will be drawing a name from those linked in my comments on Wednesday, December 9th!!
The Rules for our hop are:
- All card creations must be new and include a Magnolia image;
- Please do not combine challenges; cards must be created specifically for this blog hop;
- Please link us directly to the blog post/gallery post with your card;
- For Canada/USA participants only; and
- All cards must be linked by Tuesday, December 8th at Midnight EST to be eligible.
Curious about the candy? I ended up with the “Edwin Candy” which is a fun assortment of goodies aimed at boys.
1 x WRMK MVP paper pad (6×6)
1 x Jennie Bowlin Chalkboard Alpha (Black)
Kaisercraft rub-ons
Magnolia Stamped image sampler (Bandage Edwin, Edwin with cap, Summer Edwin, Charmer Edwin)
I am looking forward to seeing your creations!!! Your last stop on the blog hop is: Stamp Shoppe Blog!!!
Just Magnolia Challenge – Week 35
Hey everyone!
It has been a pretty productive day for me, got lots done around the house. Ever feel like you need to just purge? It seemed like every drawer and cupboard was stuffed full of crap and it is my intention to make some room (and get rid of clutter).
Was not as productive for me from a crafting point of view but I did make this card last night using the Just Magnolia sketch #35. I had a lot of fun pulling out my Cosmo Cricket papers, and felt good trying to put a dent into my stash of paper.
Anyhow, I have to go get ready for tomorrows Stamp Shoppe Blog Hop, there will be 5 different blog candies up for grabs! have a nice evening!

Happy Sunday
I actually had a pretty productive Sunday although all I really wanted to do is sit in my pajamas and do nothing. I am still in my pajamas but I actually got a fair bit of chores done and other odd and sods.
Here is a card I made a little while back and never got around to posting:
Also, keep an eye on the Stamp Shoppe blog, we will be having a blog hop starting December 1st in order to properly introduce the new DT, and show off the new blog and card gallery. There will be some fun challenges and prizes so make sure to pop in and check it out!

Finally, the weekend
It has been a really hectic week for me. Overtime most of the week, the shop keeps me occupied a fair bit since the Magnolia Christmas stamps and Stampendous storage solutions have come in and of course nobody is feeling 100% healthy in the house these days. I opened some of the new Magnolia Christmas stamps and was happy to finally get a chance to play. Followed the Just Magnolia sketch this week, I am not a fan of writing stuff sideways so I cheated a little. I used Sitting Tilda with Glitter and some of the new Magnolia Christmas paper.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Magnolia Challenge – Monochrome
So I popped in over at the “Just Magnolia” challenge blog and this weeks challenge is all about monochrome. I think I did a pretty good job and I totally love the card. I’m not sure how I’ll actually mail these suckers out….

Still working on how I take my pictures. Maybe I have to learn about photoshop a bit more as I still think the pictures look a little dull. I certainly admire those cardmakers out there who are able to make the pictures of their cards POP!
Supplies:
- Magnolia rubber stamp (Tilda with Candle)
- Cricut cartridge (Storybook)
- Martha Stewart border punch (doiley)
- Basic Grey paper and sticker (Wassail)
- Making Memories brads
Thanks!!

Card Patterns Sketch 38
Sometimes a sketch just speaks to you! After looking at the CP sketch this week and all the beautiful DT cards I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I love this holiday card because it is not the traditional red/green and the image I used doesn’t scream Christmas. Sometimes you just need something a little understated…..

Supplies:
- Magnolia stamp (Tomtinga Tilda)
- MME patterned paper (Wild Asparagus “Noel”)
- Kaisercraft pearls & flower
Don’t forget about the Stamp Shoppe DT call, more details HERE.
Thanks for popping by

The card that wasn’t…
I wasn’t going to post this right away but I haven’t had a chance to take a picture of my second card. Confused? I started creating this card for the Card Patterns sketch challenge but I couldn’t bring myself to cut the background in half so I left it as is. So this card is inspired by the CP sketch 37 but doesn’t completely follow the sketch. Not to be deterred, I created a second card but between getting home late and darkness descending upon us earlier and earlier, I couldn’t get a decent picture.

Anyhow, keep an eye out tomorrow because I will be posting card #2. And if you *LOVE* Magnolia stamps then check out my store blog HERE. I will be announcing the DT call any day now…….
Thanks for popping in!
